Self Help Center is here for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, stalking, elder abuse, and more in Natrona County. Our goal: to prevent violence and support its victims, helping them to heal.

Sexual Assault Advocacy

Advocates offer direct support to victims by assisting them with their individual needs, including:

●      Crisis intervention

●      Individual advocacy

●      Assistance with protection orders

●      Safety planning

●      Threat assessments

●      Referrals and resources for partner agencies

●      Victim compensation filing

●      Ongoing case management

Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter

The Self Help Center Safe House offers 24-hour emergency shelter to those affected  by domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking and are in immediate danger. Each resident can stay for 30 days, with extensions based on individual needs and safety.

Support Groups & Education Courses

Weekly Support Group

Advocates provide victims with regular meeting time to share problem-solving techniques and express concerns and feelings in a supportive setting.

Healthy Relationship Class

Advocates offer a Healthy Relationships course and meet to share problem-solving techniques and best practices for ending the cycle of unhealthy relationships in a supportive group setting. This course offers those who are dealing with the aftermath of trauma, abuse, and unhealthy choices an opportunity for open dialogue, fostering a sense of community and enabling participants to rebuild their lives in a safe, understanding environment.

One-On-One Education & Support

Advocates provide clients with information, education, and emotional support. Educate clients on the Power and Control Wheel and the Cycle of Violence. Also, assisting clients in reviewing options available to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and elder abuse.
