About Us
Organized in 1978, Self Help Center Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community agency designated by Natrona County and the State of Wyoming to offer support and services to victims of domestic violence, child abuse, stalking, elder abuse, sexual assault, family treatment and to substance abusing individuals.
Our Mission
To provide 24 hour crisis intervention, emergency safe house, and comprehensive supportive services to domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, stalking, elder abuse victims, and substance use treatment; and reduce future cycles of violence.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is to assure inclusion and respect for all persons regardless of cultural background, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, criminal history, or medical status among other factors. Each program may impose reasonable programmatic restrictions that are intended to support service and/or therapeutic goals of the program, meet restrictions of government grants and funding, or required by limitations of the program to provide services specific to a person.

Jennifer Dyer, MS
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Jennifer became the Executive Director of the Self Help Center in fall of 2015. Jennifer is a Casper Native with over 20 years of non-profit administrative experience. Jennifer is committed and is passionate about creating a healthier community and is able to work towards this goal by offering hope and help through the Self Help Center's programs and services.

Walt Doney
COMMUNITY OUTREACH & EVENTS COORDINATOR
Walt coordinates the community outreach and event efforts of the Self Help Center. He is originally from Wisconsin and graduated from UW-Milwaukee. He and his family have called Casper home since 2010. He has been an active member of the local community, partnering with many regional groups, organizations and businesses and continues to do so in his current role.

Micki Jaramillo
LEAD ADVOCATE
With more than 20 years of dedicated service in the non-profit sector, Micki brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as Lead Advocate at the Self Help Center. Specializing in crisis intervention and case management, Micki extends compassionate support to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse. She excels in guiding clients through safety planning and adeptly facilitates their access to essential resources within the community's social and human service agencies. Micki's commitment to empowering individuals in times of distress underscores her invaluable contribution to our mission.

Shelley Cook
CLINICAL SUPERVISOR
Shelley joined the Self Help Center team as clinical supervisor in 2016. Shelley has worked in the nonprofit world for 20 years. She chose to become a clinical supervisor because she believes mentoring and supporting other professionals is a powerful way to create a lasting impact in the helping field. Being a part of the Self Help Center allows Shelley to offer safety, support, and hope to those at their most difficult moments.

Katie Wilson
MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST
Katie is a Mental Health Therapist for the Self Help Center. She began working at the center in through AmeriCorps in 2018, successfully completing 1700 service hours with that agency. She joined the Self Help Center full time upon completion of this service. Katie supports the efforts of our 24-Hour Hotline as well as the facilitation of our Financial Empowerment resources. She also is the lead for our online support group services.

Stephanie Lamb
MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST
Stephanie has been a resident of Casper, Wyoming, for the majority of her life, fostering deep connections within her community. With a loving husband of sixteen years and two wonderful daughters, she finds solace in the warmth of her family circle. Holding a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Stephanie has dedicated her career to enhancing the well-being of individuals and families. Her professional journey has seen her navigate both private practice and inpatient settings, where she offers invaluable therapeutic support to children, adolescents, and adults alike. Stephanie's expertise extends beyond traditional therapy as she conducts comprehensive drug and alcohol assessments, instructs the Level .5 Early Intervention Course, and provides support through the 24-Hour Hotline, embodying a commitment to healing and resilience in her community.

SAFE HOUSE LEAD ADVOCATE
Brandi Collins is a proud Wyoming native who has spent many successful years in the oil and gas industry before making a courageous career shift to pursue her passion for creating positive change. She now works daily toward empowering survivors of domestic violence, helping them rebuild their lives in safe and supportive environments.

Bella Ham
ADVOCATE
Isabella is a Crisis Advocate at the Self Help Center in Casper, where she provides compassionate support and resources to individuals and families in crisis. She has lived in Casper for most of her life and is deeply connected to the community she serves. Isabella is graduating with her Bachelor of Social Work in December and is passionate about empowering others and making a positive impact. She is dedicated to walking alongside survivors and helping them find safety, healing, and hope.
