The Self Help Center Safe House of Casper, WY provides 24-hour emergency shelter to single women and women with children that have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault.  

Because our services must be available to many people who are unsafe in their present living situation, each resident is given a 30 day stay. However, some can stay longer depending on their individual situation and safety.

The shelter offers fully furnished one-bedroom apartment units supporting up to 20 individuals. These private apartments include basic living necessities such as open kitchen, toiletries, hygiene items, diapers, and laundry detergent. Food for those being housed is also offered.

Each resident meets with the Safe House Manager when they enter the DV Shelter. The Safe House Manager provides case management and referrals such as, assisting with legal and court related options, helping locate and use other community agencies and services, providing transportation, food, clothing, cell phones, and offering therapeutic services with a licensed counselor.  Stable living arrangements are made and securing employment. Resident’s and their children are provided with several opportunities to attend support groups and other special activities throughout their stay.
